"Cabaret is the multi award-winning musical set in 1930s Berlin during the Nazi's rise to power. The story revolves around two different relationships that are threatened by the political turmoil of the times, set against the provocative commentary and entertainment presented at the Kit-Kat Klub. English cabaret performer Sally Bowles and young American writer Cliff Bradshaw are drawn to each other as they endeavour to escape the rigid social structures of their own countries as they indulge in the social and sexual freedoms of 1930's Berlin. This is in contrast with the gentle, conservative relationship that blossoms between the older couple, Fraulein Schneider a German boarding-house owner and her elderly Jewish suitor, Herr Schultz. Overseeing the action is the 'Master of Ceremonies' at the Kit Kat Klub, a location which serves as a constant metaphor for the fragile and threatening state of late Weimar Germany. Cabaret features some of the greatest musical songs ever written, including -"Wilkommen," "Two Ladies," "Tomorrow belongs to me" and of course - "Cabaret."
